A series of special events are due to be held between 5-14 February as part of efforts to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the historic Cresta Run, which runs between St Moritz and Celerina, Switzerland.
The ice run, which was first completed in 1885 and used for toboggan racing, is around 0.75 miles (1.2km) in length and features a total drop of 514ft (156.7m), as well as a varying gradient between 1 in 2.8 and 1 in 8.7.
Plans drawn up by the St Moritz Tobogganing Club (SMTC) as part of the 125th anniversary celebrations feature five elements, including the Cresta Run itself, aerial and motoring events and musical shows.
A number of races, including the two-day Brabazon Trophy event starting on 5 February, the historic Grand National on 13 February and the Johannes Badrutt Memorial Trophy team race on 14 February, are among the events due to be held.
Although the Cresta Run was first completed in 1885, work is carried out each year to build the run from scratch using earth banks and the natural contours of the valley. The run also features two starting points - Top and Junction.
